This CB radio has a permanent battery discharge. It always consumes power even when the switch is off. Worse still, this device goes haywire (the best spec sheet I have) and self-destructs once the car battery is very low. This was installed in my jeep which often sits idle for days but starts at least once a week. Eventually, when the Jeep's battery died, this device started turning on and off constantly and making loud noises. This is the case even though the power switch for cb has been turned off. After this drain happens about 5 times, CB stops working. As far as I can tell it was bricked up due to its own design. If you buy this CB you need to install a current shunt between it and the source so it doesn't drain the battery and destroy itself.
