Review on Acer Predator XN253Q Pbmiprzx 24.5" Monitor, 1920X1080 Resolution, 144Hz Refresh Rate, Built-In Speakers, HDMI by Savage Jojola

Revainrating 5 out of 5

After that I will never go back to 60Hz for gaming. Great gaming monitor!

I used a 30 inch Samsung TV as a secondary gaming monitor but was really looking for a true gaming monitor with a higher refresh rate and response time. Not wanting to spend money on another GPU upgrade (currently running a GTX 970ssc) I decided to stick with a 1080p monitor and this monitor does not disappoint! A 27 inch monitor is definitely the largest I would choose for a 1080p PC monitor (also the reason I only used my previous TV/monitor for videos and gaming, too grainy (bigger dot spacing) for one main monitor) but this one is 27 Acer 1 inch monitor will continue to be primarily a gaming monitor, I have a second monitor that I use for "work". Work' works on the XB272, although my other monitor (an old Dell 24') will still be my main 'work' monitor for now. G-Sync definitely makes a difference. However, when setting up multiple monitors, you must set the G-Sync monitor as the "primary" monitor in the NVidia Control Panel for it to work properly. I originally had an Acer as my secondary monitor, so it only worked at the refresh rate setting (240, 200, 144, 120, or 60) you set it to. As soon as I switched it to my primary monitor, G-Sync kicked in and it definitely makes a difference compared to running it at a static refresh rate. Disabled G-Sync might still work fine, especially if your GPU can handle FPS higher than your monitor's refresh rate, but this is a G-Sync monitor, so I want to use it as one. :) Overall very happy with the quality and I swear my Overwatch gameplay has improved. :D
