If you are new to leatherworking, this book has a very good section on tools and materials. There are high quality photos and good descriptions of the tools and how to use them. However, many of the real projects have disappointed me. I was particularly interested in the design for the curved top pocket on the cover, but to my surprise the materials needed for this project included a "curved top pocket" along with some trim. It's about sticking embellishments onto the bag you bought, not making them. If I were only interested in buying a bag I would spend my money on it and not on this book. In any case, the title is misleading. If it were being completely honest, it would be something like "crafting with leather and leather bags". Despite my disappointment, the book itself is of good quality, with instructions well laid out. However, this can be misleading if, like me, you're hoping to find lots of new real bag patterns. really helpful resource. If you are interested in real samples I recommend looking elsewhere.
