Installing a Water Filter in a Granite Countertop

Like many others, I needed a 1/2 inch hole to install a small faucet for the water filtration system in my granite countertop next to my main faucet. A good tip is to start at an angle to make a groove, then slowly go up and let the drill do its job. do it as long as possible. I used avocado oil as it's always in my kitchen and has a very high smoke point. The oil worked fine. All I needed was a hole and a bit did the job perfectly. I recommend following up and putting some oil in a dry well. It also helps clean the granite plug and allows the drill bit to cool down a bit. Ten minutes from start to finish - the installation looks professional and I've saved a lot of money compared to paying a plumber or countertop specialist.
