Review on Enhanced TST 507 Tire Pressure Monitor with 4 Cap Sensors and Vibrant Color Display for Optimal Truck System Technology Performance by David Merculief

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Expensive but works quite well

TST is perhaps one of the best on the market. My rating is closer to 5 stars than 4, but I don't want to give the product a full rating. Lower priced items had too many reported issues for my comfort level and the one I bought didn't have the range needed to be used with a decently sized fifth wheel. I chose TS. It worked right out of the box. Tire temperatures seem plausible. Tire pressures were mostly within a degree compared to other reliable sources, but one sensor appeared to be off by a few degrees. The same applies to the tire pressure. While they're close to one psi, not all gauges will match a verified calibrated gauge. This doesn't make the system unusable, but a bit annoying in this price range. It would be nice if they could be calibrated in the field. I have used a range extender and have not tested working without it. Signals can take some time to be received but seem to hold up well once received on a 35ft trailer. It would be much better if the gauge adjusted to the tires being tracked rather than the occupancy gauge. This can easily be achieved with some creative programming and perhaps a different, more modern display. The display seems to work reasonably well and is easy to read in most lighting conditions. I would have preferred the lids to have a lower profile to further reduce the chance of damage. Perhaps this is a serious problem only off-road.
