Review on ๐Ÿ‘ถ Aunua Youth 3/2mm Neoprene Wetsuit for Kids - Full Swimming Suit to Stay Warm by Dangelo Toliver

Revainrating 5 out of 5

UPDATE: _great_ costume!

Wetsuits should fit snugly to provide good thermal insulation. If you roll up your sleeves and ankles, or your suit sags around your waist or hips, your body loses heat in the water, effectively defeating one of the garment's purposes. In terms of insulating performance, this particular wetsuit is 2mm thick on the limbs and 3mm thick on the torso. Many of the other children's costumes here at Revain are only 2mm thick, so it's worth checking out if it's of interest to your purposes. pounds, build = long limbs and skinny waist) is perfect for a size 6. I suspect a kid with a slightly larger build but the same height (not yet around 4ft) could get away with wearing this suit by - for a stretch wear factor, but the inseam didn't have much room so chafing could be a factor. In any event, I would recommend following the size chart very closely when purchasing this costume rather than trying to measure the child's normal dress size. This is a back zipper costume and the zipper tether is very long (maybe 9 inches or so). My child immediately understood the function of the leash and was able to fasten the suit on his own, but the velcro on the collar is so strong that I had to open it myself (the angle plus force at the child's height interferes with this). In other words, my child will be able to put on a dry, fully open suit on his own, except for adjusting the neck, but will need help removing it. The look of this suit is remarkable and the clasps move and work smoothly. Spring. In other words, the suit doesn't feel cheap, which is nice at this price point, but it does admittedly have a strong gummy smell. This has been noted by other reviewers in costumes other than this one, so I suspect it's area related. However, this suit is mainly used in the pool, so my kid immediately decided that the chlorine is only there to get rid of the rubber smell. We'll see when we're back at the pool later this week. I may revise my review once I've actually tested the suit in the water, but for now we're very happy. ====================== UPDATE: months on . . . . . the costume is great. Its wearer has grown (he is now 46 inches) but the fabric is soft enough and strong enough for us to continue using the suit. We wash it after a swim in the pool (washing machine only) and air dry, and it's practically intact despite being dragged along the concrete edge of the pool when getting in and out. The color and detailing are preserved, the velcro is still perfectly strong and the leash and zip are almost like new. There is a slight trace of wear on the edges of the top in the area of the collar and the Velcro fastener, but no one but me will probably notice it. I wouldn't call it a downside, but it's worth noting that this costume really isn't a dress up or take down dress. by a child without the help of adults. That's partly because of the tight fit and partly because when it gets wet it has to be turned inside out to be removed tail by tail. But we don't care because this suit really keeps my kid _warm_ in their swim class, even when the pool is noticeably colder than usual. I received almost no comments (let alone complaints) from my child about the temperature in the pool, and now other parents are asking where they can get something like that. (It helps that he looks pretty cool, superhero like.) I won't hesitate to buy the next size up if needed and I can probably still sell the overgrown one as it will be left in this condition. good shape despite use.
