👶 Aunua Youth 3/2mm Neoprene Wetsuit for Kids - Full Swimming Suit to Stay Warm Review

Ideal for sailing the Pacific Northwest. So I was hesitant about sizing but it seemed like everyone was talking about ordering a size up. My son is 6 years old (birthday this week) but a very active child. Height 46 inches, weight about 45 pounds, I was going to order a size 6 but got an 8 which fit perfectly. That's great.

Bought a size 10 for my 10 year old girl and it fits her well (she wears a regular size 10 when dressed). This works great for keeping them warm while swimming in our backyard pool when the water is a bit cooler. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the smell is VERY strong so we can't hang it in the closet when it's dry and not in use. I hope the smell wears off over time, but after a few weeks of use the smell is still as strong as when you first opened the box.

We live in Northern California where the ocean water is cold so my kids always have a 3/2 mm wetsuit worn. It seemed a bit flimsy when we took it out of the box but we decided to give it a try because it was said to be 3/2mm and it was brand new to us. Remember you get what you pay for. I live in a beach town. We have many surf shops selling full wetsuits throughout the year. I just didn't want to pay for an 11 year old who doesn't surf and keeps complaining about the cold water temperature. Wetsuits should fit snugly to provide good thermal insulation. If you roll up your sleeves and ankles, or your suit sags around your waist or hips, your body loses heat in the water, effectively defeating one of the garment's purposes. In terms of insulating performance, this particular wetsuit is 2mm thick on the limbs and 3mm thick on the torso.
