The mounts are offset about 2" down (I have 1" caliper mounts) so they are either too high or too low. The smoke tint in the picture is as dark as a pair of Ray Bans, making my lightly tinted windshield look transparent. The holes in the bracket are too far from the edge to use on my caliper so they have to be mounted on the underside of the caliper. I work at a great store so this is an easy fix for me, but this is important information that should have been in the product description. Otherwise, the poly is about 1/8" thick, the screws come with O-rings to prevent tearing around the holes, and the brackets are 1/16" thick and slide in easily (just do this, after the mirror is mounted). tighten and pull in one direction, not at an angle, and only pull on the bracket if at all. I order a clear kit and the mounts are fine tuned at work. I have to wait for the rain to stop to try them on in the cold air.
