I put this blocker on my front door to my apartment today. I was hoping to block the light from the hallway, keep the cool air out of my apartment, and reduce the noise from the hallway. I don't notice any difference in the floor noise, although the blocker dampens the light significantly and the door insulates better. For the purchase price (around $10), it's probably hard to beat. Unfortunately, the sound is not greatly reduced for my apartment. The blocker is a bit narrower than expected, but that's not a problem. It also sticks to the floor and increases friction when opening and closing the door. The blocker doesn't come with any instructions, which I was fine with as it's a simple process, but some might find the instructions helpful.
