Not all the good news is here. This weekend I unpacked and tested my new vacuum cleaner. I ran it over the wooden floor rails and it worked great. I then decided to try additional hose tools and started with a 2-in-1 crevice and brush tool that didn't pick up anything. I tried another tool with a claw and a roller, but the roller did not rotate. I removed the tool and felt the suction and it was minimal. I switched back to ground mode and now it doesn't work either. I scratched my head and checked everything. According to the manual I checked the filters, hoses and all that. I decided to wash the filters as recommended even though they were brand new. Called support today on Monday. While I waited, I continued to study the vacuum. I came across the internal valve and noticed that it was in the middle position. The hose is on the left and the floor is on the right. After removing the dirt pan, I was able to stick my finger in and put it in tube mode. Then it worked fine, but did not return when switching to the bottom. I'm a home appliance technician by trade so I looked at it with a flashlight and found the spring was loose. I removed it and reconnected it. The vacuum cleaner works great now! The internal valve shifts as it should and I really like it. It would have been an easy 5 star rating if they hadn't sent me a broken vacuum and if I wasn't a technician who could fix it myself they would have sent it back and bought a competitor's model instead.
