Review on Miele Classic Suction Canister Graphite by Crystal Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

nimble vacuum cleaner for quick touch-ups!

I have this vacuum cleaner and a full size red Miele Titan. While I love my Titan (it's great for dog hair and thick carpets), I reach for this light and nimble C1 90% of the time since most of my house has hardwood floors. The head and vacuum tube are not motorized, so the whole portable part is much lighter. Because the head isn't motorized, it's also fast and agile in turns and turns. I was a little apprehensive when ordering this item when I heard that this C1 was made in China and not Germany (never good imho). Since my very first Miele is still running well 17 years later, I was afraid of declining quality. However, in a direct comparison of low-pile carpet and hardwood, I found no noticeable difference in suction between the C1 and my Titan, and the materials were the same weight, so it's basically a slightly smaller canister at less than half the price. C1 is approximately 65% the size and weight of Titan. The difference in weight is due to the smaller size, not cheaper or inferior parts! I'm very glad they improved the compact model by making the cable 5 feet longer than the Titan. I'm very happy with this C1 and thankful I didn't buy the acclaimed Electrolux vacuum. I was concerned that this canister would be cumbersome with a quick touch, but it's actually easier than a staff stand as all the weight is in the canister rather than the handheld. Highly recommended! UPDATE 10/01/2017: I've been using this awesome compact every other day and it's still working! It's so effective at picking up dust and light dog hair that my heavy Titan is only used once every two weeks. The funny thing is my house is actually cleaner because it's easier for me to vacuum, so I do it more often and I'm not a fan of tidiness

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it says it is
