Bought for a 10 hour international flight and for walking during the tour. The plus side: I have big calves, but I can put them on without much effort. They sit well, don't push up. (I'm 5'5" and they are a bit long. If someone is under 5'4" I think they're hitting a bad spot behind the knee.) Cons: The problem I had was, that in the middle of a flight there when I really couldn't move in the cramped airplane seat to do anything about it and although I left some room for my toes when putting them on, the socks were uncomfortably tight on my toes. Really very uncomfortable. When we arrived in Germany, I even took them off right at the airport and couldn't bring myself to wear them for the next 10 days or on the flight home. I really think they are good quality and I love it. suitable for a person with large calves. I had others I couldn't handle. I think I may need less compression than these suggest. I'm a teacher and I walk on hard floors all day; I can try at school to see if they help. At least in this environment I can easily remove them if necessary.
