The cord itself is well folded and the screw on the connector ensures the cords don't pull on the part. However, it is not 100% waterproof. After using our bird bath warmer for a little over a week, it stopped GFI output and the water froze overnight. When I unscrewed the connection I found some water on the connector and that was enough to disable the GFI. It's not that I didn't secure the connection, I screwed the connector in really tight. I dried it, put it back together and wrapped it tightly in plastic and tape to keep it dry. Like I said, the cable itself is great, but water finds a way to get through the cracks.
