Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced MAHLE OC 999 Oil Filter for Optimal Performance by Jim Shirodkar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very well processed filter, I will not use any other from now on.

The Original MAHLE filter has a very good design and is a high quality filter that won't break the bank. I bought mine for $7.46 Prime. I decided to do some pretty extensive research on oil filters. I've gone back to do-it-yourself oil changes in my cars for a variety of reasons and have found that the filters seem pretty flimsy since the last time I bought them. design and how they should work. I was surprised at how poorly constructed some of the filters are. I wouldn't even use most filters on a lawnmower. In any case, I decided on MAHLE Original for many reasons. Yes, there are others that are also very well constructed, but they are much more expensive. The metal canister that holds the filter unit is made of very thick metal. The filter check valve, which prevents oil from draining out of the engine to prevent dry starting, is well designed and ensures the engine has the best possible lubrication when started. There is a strong coil spring on the underside of the filter housing which tensions the filter element and holds the filter in the correct position to filter the oil whether cold or hot, unlike some less expensive torsion springs that do the same job. - There is an embossed pleated filter with numerous pleats evenly distributed. . Looks like someone pulled out a ruler and measured each one. The more folds, the more surface area to collect dirt. MAHLE filters have many folds. The more uniform they are, the more evenly the oil will be distributed through the filter and not just flow through a wide open area because the pleats are not evenly distributed and flow resistance is the lowest. The filters are also held in place with metal plugs and a very high quality adhesive compared to some cardboard plugs. There is also a very good check/bypass valve on the bottom end cap on the inside. Filter. It has an elastomeric seal to prevent dirty oil from getting to the clean side of the filter, but if the oil is thick because it's very cold, or very dirty because the oil hasn't been changed, it opens, so that the oil can get past the filter. and go straight to the engine to provide lubrication. There is also a metal tube inside the filter element itself, which prevents the filter from being destroyed. This would help as the oil filter is under high pressure at different temperatures. SUMMARY: I have this Chevrolet along with a Ford car. There was a time when I didn't hesitate to buy a Delco AC filter. The Delco AC filter is not what it used to be. I'm not saying it's a terrible filter. I only believe in MY OPINION that this filter is much better. There are several other brands that I have used with confidence at one point. As mentioned before, once I learn them I could use them on a lawn mower because I don't think they are very efficient and poorly designed. The boxes are beautiful and the marketing is fantastic but that's all they have. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helps you.
