The bottles have a design flaw.
These bottles don't close properly for air travel. For air travel you need to be able to squeeze all the air out and then close the bottle. If you don't do this, here's what happens: the air pressure decreases as the pressure increases, and the air in the bottle expands, forcing some of the liquid out. The overhead bins are set to maintain air pressure at 10,000 feet. With these bottles (at least the ones I have), if you squeeze the air out and then close the lid, the air will slowly seep back in to inflate the bottles again. But the tote bag is great.
