I watched a number of videos on polishing granite and then selected techniques that were common to all successful ones. Use water to lubricate and cool material/pads. Do not exceed the recommended speed on the blocks. Use a variable speed grinder - the mounting pad fits snugly on it. Keep moving! If you have a blank, practice first, you will feel how the surface reacts to the polishing process. Don't skip pads. Consistency is very important as each pad has the right grit to remove the scratches left by the previous pad. If you skip the pad or don't buff long enough, the finish will dull a bit and you'll have to go back and do it again. This is the way!
