Over the last few years, the degenerative arthritis in my hands has worsened. Keeping a grip on smooth, heavy things has become more of a challenge. For years, we had used some very heavy-duty stoneware plates. Taking a stack of them out of the cupboard and moving them from the dishwasher to the cupboard was becoming just difficult enough to be annoying. So I got a set of Corelle ware. They are light enough for me to have several in one hand. And when I do drop them, they do not shatter or chip. It's a good work-around for me.
