Very nice, soft leather straps. The leather smell and a chemical smell is really strong (really stinks) when I first opened the package, but know I'm super sensitive to smells, so this is probably just me. After it sat out for a while, the smell was almost completely gone, so I really wouldn't worry about that too much. I mention it only because if you open it and smell it too, I don't want you to think it lingers and stays around. It does seem to go away.It's easy to cut, doesn't fray on the ends, and ties easily. I've wetted it, while working on creating the toys for my birds with it, and it didn't bleed color and that's a good thing.It's soft and moveable, not stiff and hard to bend. It can knot up pretty tight if you pull it, but is pretty easy for my birds to untie as well. If using for crafts, that is probably a very good thing too.I'd highly recommend this product. With the exception of the smell (the reason for four stars instead of five) I'd say it's a really good product.
