These phones have a construction error. I'm using my second phone and the batteries fail again. The chargers seem to be putting out too much current to charge the batteries. The base station charger supplies 9 volts AC and the remote charger supplies 6 volts DC. In any case, this is too much for a 2.4 V battery; 2-3 times more. Leaving the phone on the charger for too long will cause the battery to fully charge and then charge again, which will drain the batteries. "Why not remove the phone when the battery is fully charged and before the batteries get damaged." Well, would you like to keep an eye on a phone that should have an automatic charging system? Also, I bought extra batteries after the first phone, expecting the replacement phone to be fine, but the batteries are just plain bad. Not correct! They're burned out too. I can't send them back as it's not the batteries. About $10 down the drain. Buy another phone and don't risk changing your phone later.
