Review on 🚴 Efficient and Secure: Kuat Transfer V2 1-Bike Hitch Rack for Easy Transportation by Jeffrey Gallagher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Full size clutch pin and lock cannot be used

The trunk came with minor scratches and stains on the front tire pan. Within a minute it looked almost as used as some of the other reviews said, but after I assembled the rest of the rack it was definitely unused. I got a lot of that "red/orange dust" that the other reviewer was talking about, but I think it's rust coming from the inside of the pipe stand. The exterior paintwork looks very nice, and the stand eventually died Steel. that some flakes of rust may fall out. It took me some time to understand this feature, I'm not sure I understood it yet. My 2" hitch receiver has a hole dead center on the up/down axle.. I haven't been able to get a regular pin through the receiver and post - the hole in the rail is offset and I can only fit the small pin that came with the post (rated for a 1-in -Hitch).I tried loosening and tightening the anti-wiggle screw but just couldn't figure it out. That was a bit of a disappointment as I just bought a full size locking pin for this rack bought. Getting on and off the bike is easy and very safe. No frame contact. Unfortunately the combination of 29er MTB and RAV4 doesn't let me fully open the sunroof when the strut is down. The handlebar is a bit wider. If it went down another 5 degrees, that would be perfect. Great for the price, I love the improvements they've made with the built in anti-wobble feature and a built in lock, although it would be nice if the cable was tucked away in the rack rather than carrying it separately. It's $130 less without those upgrades, I like it, but I'm not sure the electronic lock and anti-swing is really worth the extra $130.

Pros
  • Holds tires up to 5" with accessory strap
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
