I'm glad I trusted the reviews on this product. Metal housing, high-quality workmanship, beautiful flexible cable, 240 MB/s (1.92 Gbit/s) transfer rate with Sony UHSII Tough Card (300 MB/s writing speed). Nice touches like: a tiny hole-sized blue LED to confirm connection; spring-loaded insert with positive click; The SD card doesn't fit all the way into the card reader (about 1/8 inch is left open) so you can push it in slightly to activate the spring pushing it out. Simply a fantastic product. Sony Tough Cards have an extra piece of plastic on the bottom under the connectors, making them a bit thicker than a standard SD card. very expensive! After considering options including destroying Satechi to salvage the hard drive, I took a chance and just pulled the hard drive hard and it came out. I then (gently) inserted/removed the hard drive a few more times and now it goes in and out easily. I'm not sure if it was a hard drive issue or a Satechi issue. I recommend Satechi to take a look at hard drive compatibility. However, now I know it was a minor issue, no deduction from the 5 star rating as the product works well and the problem could very well be on the hard drive side. Highly recommended.
