Review on Phillips Drivers 6 Inch Klein Tools by Nick Childs

I would literally pay money never to buy one. They cost me time and wasted work. The racket keeps slipping off the head. In the end, my crew threw them in the trash and went to the depot to get replacements so another worker wouldn't accidentally pick them up and use them. My workers and I frequently use PH3 heads in our construction, farm and ranch, and property maintenance work. This includes various brands of large fasteners that require this size, so my review is not geared towards any particular brand of screw. I bought this set as I usually like the Klein brand/quality and I bought a few smaller Phillips PH1 bits before they worked very well. Unfortunately, this PH3 size is very finicky about fitting in a screw head. They may work well in electrics (retail market), but they are not suitable for general purpose use with a PH3 head. The best I can explain is by looking at the picture where the head tapers (the part that goes into the head of the screw). Instead of a full pyramid/triangle that fits into the grooves of the screw head, you're half the size. Bits are difficult to get into the head quickly and will constantly slip out of the head if they are not properly aligned with the head of the screw. It's rare that my pros can use it to turn a screw without slipping at least once, especially on impact wrenches. Unscrew old worn heads? It's easier with a small PH2 head than with those junk pieces. This is the first Klein product I've ever bought that I've been disappointed with. It is made of high quality materials, but functionally useless. After this error I reverted to similar Milwaukee bits. They're secure and fit well, just hate that pesky red sticker on the shank that takes a while to wear off. I've also started using some double-ended Irwin bits from time to time, which come in handy when swapping between two screws with different head types. Good luck with your own purchase.
