Is the felt thinner than specified?

They fit very well but I don't understand why the felt is 3mm thick unless the thickness is hidden in silicone. My measurements show less than 1mm. If this is the case, the goal of protecting the wooden floor is ultimately defeated. I think we'll see how they hold up.
