These foam pads are the right size. However, they are much denser. That means they pick up a lot more dirt. I cleaned my tank and installed these new pads. After 8 days they were already so clogged that the pads were bent. 4 weeks have passed and they are still here. Anyone who uses outdated AquaClear filters knows that they have to be burdened with something heavy. If I hadn't had the weight on mine these pads would have ripped off the top in just a week of installation.
