Review on CORSAIR Vengeance 2X16GB PC4 28800 Desktop Computer Components by Michael Briggs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ram is great, looks amazing, but it's definitely not plug and play (read the review if you're having trouble).

To be honest the Ram itself is great I'd say although it's definitely not plug n play like many other Ra's. The first downside is that the frequency defaults to somewhere around 2100, to really get 3600 as advertised you have to go into your bios and overclock it to 3600MHz and change the voltage from 1.35000 to 1.40000 or 1, Increase 450000 instead of being set to auto and also set this option in bios if overclocked not to set manuel or auto but if using intel set xmp i or xmp ii. If the voltage is too low, you might just end up with an endless boot loop like me, where you just shut down your computer. I also recommend, if you don't have a really powerful CPU, bump it up to 3333MHz instead of 3600. Until the upgrade I have an i7 8700 and I've had to drop the frequency down to 3333MHz until I upgrade to my i9 9900k in a month or two. It sounds more complicated than it is, trust me, but overall I recommend 100% RAM if you set it up properly. The last complaint I have is that the Icue software can be a bit tricky setting up the RGB unless you're doing a simple effect, but once you get the hang of overlaying the lighting effects you will go well.

Pros
  • Customize lighting profiles with millions of different patterns and colors or create your own in CORSAIR iCUE software.
Cons
  • Something different
