Review on LIFTMASTER Garage Openers 4A1344 Socket by Todd Calloway

What engineering! - Lamp holders

I remember when I was a kid lamp holders had thick paper as an insulator. They were cheaply made but lasted a lifetime. In today's tech world, you need to figure out how to get it working just long enough to outlast the warranty period. My garage door opener is almost 2 years old. It has 2 of these connectors. One came out a year ago but I still had one that gave me a light when I walked into my garage (an automatic sensor on a door opener in the wall). Another just came out. Come on. The way these sockets go in and out tells me they're designed to fail. With a lifespan of 1-2 years. Old style garage door openers had a ceramic rosette that would have outlived the life of the door opener. If you are good with tools, you'd better buy an old ceramic ceiling socket, install a 4-corner box on the ceiling and plug it in. In addition to sockets for light, the Camerlin door opener works excellently.
