Review on πŸ’‘ Logisys Corp. 480W 240-Pin 120MM Ball Bearing Power Supply PS480E12 by Justin Anderson

It's definitely not gold plated

This power supply is great for simple applications and low power graphics cards. As mentioned in other reviews it only has 2 SATA connectors and they are on the same cable and fairly close together which makes things difficult when you have a large case and the optical drive is more than a few inches away from your hard drive . Luckily I had a Molex to SATA adapter so I didn't have to worry. The pins on the motherboard connector are also fairly short, so if you have a full-size case you'll need some extension cords to reach them. Another interesting note: the ball bearings seemed to make noise when the PSU was side mounted (I had one on the dyno) and it sounds like the bearings inside the fan are slamming together when it starts overclocking. . I tried it with a Corei5 Ivy Bridge and a GTX 660 and with 12GB of memory and it worked great browsing and running most apps, but as soon as I tried to run an online game (World of Tanks) it crashed in the middle in a starting high graphics requirements . I'm not sure if it will reach 480W, after all I replaced it with an old Master 500W cooler and all problems stopped. I'll admit I have two of these, I connected one to my work computer when the fan on the other power supply started making strange noises and it worked with no problems. Hope that helps.
