I needed to connect my old Presonus Firepods (FP-10) audio interfaces to my old Mac Pro (2012). Presonus Firepods have 6-pin FireWire 400 ports and my Mac Pro has FireWire 800 ports and this little adapter did the trick. Firepods can be daisy chained but they won't run at 96kHz when connected in a daisy chain, but they work great when connected separately (the Mac Pro has 4 FireWire 800 ports). I did a few recordings (24 channels) and the old Presonus Firepods sound really good considering they are over 15 years old.
