We've always used Motorola, Cobra and Uniden Wally walkie-talkies for camping, hiking and mountain biking. However, there have always been issues with reception, clarity and people can listen even with privacy codes (blocks people talking to you but they can still listen). So we decided to try RT5. IMPRESSIVE! We were very impressed with the battery life, range in and out of town, and sound quality compared to other devices. Additional features like dual-band mode, the ability to connect to repeaters for longer range, and the ability to tune radios via the included USB cable take it to the next level. This doesn't stop them, as we are new to this type of radio we had some issues and emailed customer service with a quick response given the time difference. They truly support their product 100%.
