Review on Park Tool Super Patch Kit by Kenneth Bryan

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Save time and money; Use vulcanizing plaster.

Great idea, poor execution. These things are junk and especially useless on road bikes that are 700x25 or smaller. Due to the size of the patch, the cast pipework will inevitably be "patched" along with the hole. This is the weak link as Super Patch will not stick to areas adjacent to mold lines and allow for leakage in that area. After repeated attempts to repair a flat tire (including removing the rear wheel, patching the tube, changing the rear wheel, deflating the tire), finding a patch leak is beyond awkward, especially when the air source is CO2. Cartridges (I don't carry a box of 9).
