Review on Philips EP200 Multi Region Player by Aaron Wood
DVD players are not regional
This DVD player EP200 from Philips is described as "Region Free" but the one I received wasn't. Region 1 NTSC discs won't play even if I change the NTSC or AUTO setting. However, it could play PAL Region 2 discs but the picture was very blurry. I called Revane about the problem. Unable to decide, they offered to consult the manufacturer. However, I have decided to return the DVD player for a refund. I believe the machine I received is defective. This is the first time I have had a problem with a Philips regional DVD player. Others worked for me right out of the box with no issues and without having to make any changes to the settings.
