If you brew your own beer, this is a great way to heat up your fermenter!

I brew my own beer and was looking for a way to heat my fermenter during the winter months. I saw a few other people commenting positively on this cable to that end, so I bit the bullet and bought it. I have a Ranco thermostat and I plugged this cord into a heater outlet. I used magnetic clips to strategically hang the cable in the chest freezer I use (also connected to Ranco) and was amazed at how effective this little cable was in getting my fermentor to the right temperature! It heated my freezer up to 68 degrees in a few hours. I now have a beer in my fermenter that sits comfortably at the temperature I set the ranco to and am so happy with this cable! I highly recommend it for temperature control while brewing. Two tips: you need to use some kind of temperature controller. I bought a ranco with two outlets, one for cooling and one for heating. Ranco uses this cord and the freezer, powering everything needed to keep the freezer at the temperature you set. The second tip is that you should use magnetic clips to hang this cable strategically. Do not cross the cord as this can create a hot spot that can damage the cord or anything it comes in contact with. I used four clips to prevent the cable from overlapping. Because I used magnetic clips, it's very easy to position the cable where I want it. I used solid metal magnetic clips so I'm not worried about damaging the clips. I think this cord will work fine for a chest freezer up to 7 cubic feet, but if you have a larger one I'd recommend buying the next size cord. (I think it's 25 feet at 50 watts).
