Great product, difficult to install! Here's what I did to install the new flush valve after removing the old flush valve: 1. Drain the tank as much as possible.2. Remove the flapper from the valve kit and set aside for easier installation.3. Remove the pad from the Vale Kit and soak it in warm soapy water for 10 minutes - the factor's secret tip for 30 minutes didn't help me much. There was still too much friction between the gasket and the tank surface to turn the valve when the gasket was pushed in.4. Insert the valve (without the gasket) into the slotted hole at a 45 degree angle and mark with a marker on the back of the tank. The marking will facilitate further installation. Then remove the valve. - I learned this the hard way, I broke the tabs on my old valve trying to push and turn, guessing the correct 45 degree angle.4. Apply some petroleum jelly (petroleum based, I know, but a necessary evil) around the nicked hole in the tank.5. Reinstall the gasket on the valve and then lubricate the gasket with petroleum jelly .6. Push the flush valve into the slotted hole and turn it to the vertical position.7. Reattach the flapper to the valve. Hope the installation went well!
