I placed the photos in the frames before assembly because I figured I wouldn't be able to access the rear hatch of some of the frames as they overlapped. IT WAS AN UNNECESSARY STEP. You have 100% access to all picture hatches after assembly. This would be useful information to have in advance. This was exactly the frame I was looking for and it was a birthday present for a friend. I thought this was a good quality frame but am deducting a star because some of the paint chipped off during assembly. It was minor and I could fill it in with a Sharpie marker, but it was a little annoying.
