This is a smart tool to keep in your backpack or toolbox for a quick blade repair. Carbide elements can be aggressive on some steels, but this tool will make your EDC knives useful. I've used it on my budget 8Cr13 or D2 EDC knives and it does the job perfectly. In addition, it has a diamond mine for mending shells. I have not used this function. Everything he said.
