I bought these for our 2013 Subaru Crosstrek as OEM kits never last long and I noticed that they started to fail when we bought this one used car. Having owned the Impreza I already knew how to replace them but I didn't want to OEM as I have changed 3 pairs in the 10 years that I have owned the Impreza. They claim to be better. At first glance they appear a bit shorter than the OEM when fully extended. The mount/bracket is thicker (sturdier) than the OEM and has a nicer black finish. I put one in for comparison. Immediate notification of the difference. Even compared to a brand new OEM, this hydraulic raises the sunroof much faster and smoother. He can stop the hatch FAST with just one. VERY EASY TO INSTALL. You can do it yourself, preferably a second person to hold the hatch and move it if necessary. They come with EVERYTHING YOU NEED for the perfect fit. I've used all the new hardware and it looks and works great. You will notice the difference in hydraulic length as the hatch rises so quickly that if you don't control it at the end it will recoil a bit. Costs money.
