I never thought finding a good tea towel could be so difficult. I've had washcloths from both Norwex and Hearth and Hand from Target for years. After they got wet and then dried (or line dried after washing), they became stiff, like cardboard. All they could do was push away the water I was trying to wipe away. They hold any shape they dry very inflexibly. I was finally fed up with washcloths that didn't really do anything, so I searched and found these. Hearth and Hand were also 100% cotton, so I had my doubts when I saw them. If 100% cotton doesn't work for them, why should it work for these? I figured I'd try them and if they fail I'd go back and look for something else. I was very happy that I gave them a chance. Not only are they not stiff and useless when dry, but they absorb water or other liquids better than I've ever seen! I actually FEEL them cleaning my counters as I wipe them down. When rubbed, there's a slight resistance that makes it seem like it's really grabbing. Dry or wet, these are by far the best kitchen towels I've ever owned. The colors and design aren't exactly my style, but I don't care. I'm just glad I finally feel like I'm cleaning when I use them, not just rubbing spills and crumbs across my countertops. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.
