I'm a Brooks fan and have ridden thousands of miles on their saddles and flimsy grips. I was attracted to this product because it can be made in custom lengths. Attempting to do this was so close to impossible that it was simply impossible. Once the needles were cut, the threads would not accept the nipples no matter how much I coaxed and filed. Putting the nipple on the thread (to rethread the cut end) was also incredibly difficult because when the needle was turned the head of the needle came out of the handle. You end up with two options for using this product: use their lengths (130mm) or use the extra short changing needles that come in the kit and end up with grips just over 80mm wide. Of course, there must be an accessible midpoint. I'm mechanical by nature - in fact I make bike frames from scratch - and yet this product was nothing short of a frustrating exercise. If my client wants wider grips, I'll eat $90. TERRIBLE PRODUCT DESIGN.
