I think this thermometer is great value for money. Some instant read thermometers on the market cost 2-3x what I paid for this one and they aren't worth the extra money for all you get with this one. It has a large display and backlight, which makes it very easy to read, even for someone like me who wears reading glasses. I have no problem reading the temperature with or without glasses. I used the calibration feature and found it very accurate. When he tells me my rotisserie chicken is ready, it means it's ready. When he tells me my steak is medium rare, it is. Are there thermometers that provide faster readings? Yes, perhaps. But this one gives me a stable temperature reading in 3-4 seconds, which is fast enough for my purposes, especially since, as I said, it costs 2-3 times more to get that speed. It even comes with a spare battery so you don't have to worry about it not being ready when you need it. The magnet is a nice feature too, along with the different degrees of doneness printed on the front. I'm glad I bought this and recommend it.
