Review on Heavy Duty Door Operated Ratchet by John Barnett

A well designed and extremely useful device for removing car doors easily and safely. It is also easy to assemble and disassemble for storage when not in use. The jack allows you to make the fine adjustments needed to drive the first few bolts, saving you a tremendous amount of time. It took a few "modifications" to make it work for my project. While the elevator works well for doors with window frames, my 1970 Trans Am doesn't have them. I had to add an "extension" on one of the support bars to get to the inside door frame (see photo). I also had to add foam pads in two places to protect the paintwork on the door itself (see photo). However, these are minor issues. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and will never shoot a door without it again. This may seem expensive at first, but the time savings are worth it.
