I thought making wooden blocks was the best way to reduce my stash and scraps of fabric. I looked at the striped lines from Marti Michell and Quilt in a Day and settled on the Creative Grids square ruler. While the Creative Grids videos show how easy it is to take a straight cut piece of fabric, I've found that the best way for me to use a ruler is to cut the strips to the right size, a Sew a circle and cut with a ruler. Choosing fabric is the hardest step for me so choosing fabric and cutting strips for multiple blocks in one go makes sewing super quick and with the Creative Grids line I get a perfect 12 1/2- inch block. I have made over 40 blocks so far and am very glad I made this purchase.
