Review on Compression Socks For Swelling Reduction During Travel - NuVein Knee Highs For Men And Women, Closed Toe, Navy, Medium Size, 15-20 MmHg Compression by Rebecca Vattikuti

Work better for non-flying activities

These are listed as being for airplane travel, but I found them to work better for everything else and not so well on a plane. While flying, these socks were comfy but didn't really seem to do much for ankle and foot edema. On the ground and doing things like sitting or grocery shopping or going on longer car trips (over an hour), they did help with swelling. As long as you buy based on their size chart and measure yourself correctly, they should be able to go on without a struggle to stretch the fabric around your foot or have the upper cuff dig into your calf. If you are on the border of two sizes, order the larger. These compression socks don't shrink in the laundry, but can snag easily and develop a run like a pair of tights or nylons would. The material isn't as thin as many compression stocking can be, and the extra layer is welcome when wearing these in the winter. A little pricey for a single pair (about $13 per), but overall these sock can help if you suffer from lower extremity edema.
