My goal was to convert all my old family video tapes to digital format. The sound quality was great but the video quality made it impossible to view the screen capture. During recording, the video displayed on the LCD by the camera itself shows a beautiful image with color. It all depends on what is actually written to my computer by the adapter. You'll see multiple "rainbow" effects throughout the video and a permanent black box appearing and disappearing right in the center of the screen. Easily takes up 1/3 of the screen. I've tried different cassettes, tried cleaning the camera's tape recorder, different cables and it's pretty obvious that the problem is with the adapter as I get a nice picture when I connect the camera directly to the TV. I would not recommend this product. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro with all USB-C ports, if that helps anyone.
