I have sooooo many valuable home videos spanning almost my entire life! If I can find them to digitize, it'll be worth a fortune. I researched it myself and it suggested exactly what I needed! I record my old VHS movies on an old VHS player and mini DV tapes on an old camcorder. So thankful I saved all of these, I can plug them into my computer and save them! If you have old home videos, this is a must! And it's easy. I teach my teenagers to do the same to help me. Great tool/program.

Used the product with a Canon Hi8 camera and a Macbook Pro. The adapter doesn't communicate with my new MacBook Pro (which only comes with USB-C ports), but I think Apple should take the blame for that. The editing program that came with it didn't seem to work properly, but I used it and still haven't read all the instructions. I've used this on a Windows 8 PC I installed both versions of the software from the disc that came with it and my first advice is just go with the VHS to DVD 3.0 software to use. don't use OBS Studio unless you're very tech savvy.
