Cracked plastic on rear drill guide

The rear drill guide (which moves slightly left to right) broke when I tightened the screw on one side. Specifically, the plastic portion of the drill guide base that houses the threaded metal insert has cracked and expanded (see photo). This resulted in the holes being misaligned when drilled and the rear splitter being tipped in relation to the guardrail, creating a very unsafe situation. Also, the rear drill guide no longer slipped left and right. I hand-tightened both screws without using excessive force. But on the one hand, the plastic housing is only torn in several places, which is a clear plastic defect. I ordered a replacement from Revain. In the meantime I will fix the misaligned holes in the ZCI. If the replacement product is not defective I will update this review accordingly. UPDATE 01/26/2020: Replacement arrived quickly. I fixed the holes in my ZCI by drilling them to 1/4" and gluing in some 1/4" dowels. Then I prepared two new installation boards. I studied the instructions very carefully and drilled new holes with a spare guide. This time the front splitter is not angled well against the fence, nor is it at 90 degrees to the saw face. Test board "B" hangs on both sides of the front splitter no matter which splitter/configuration I use. The rear splitter is precisely aligned. I checked the alignment of the two front holes on the drill guide by inserting two 3/16" drill bits and one of the pilot holes is tilted very noticeably relative to the other. So this guide is also defective. It is very frustrating that all this hassle goes on for days and still produces unacceptable results. The drill guide seems to be very poorly finished reliable for the accuracy required to use the splitters safely and to function as intended. I need to repair the holes in my ZCI again and see if I can find an alternative solution.
