Helps keep an old saw safe

Beautifully designed product. The splitters I received had small surface cracks in the plastic surface. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement and basically said surface cracks probably wouldn't be a problem but we would ship another set just for reassurance. Their other products also appear to be well developed and backed by a customer-centric company. It's great to have a company that supports vintage saws and helps protect carpenters.

Item broke and fell apart!

I finally got around to making a new splitless insert and installing this MJ splitter for my table saw, but when I opened the box I noticed that all the real tabs used to split were cracked and fell out separately. This was the first time I opened the package as it had just sat on the shelf since I received the box from Revain. I'm definitely uncomfortable using a faulty safety device so I'd return if I could, but I'm just past the return window so looks like I'm just stuck with that.

It might be too expensive for what it is. But that .

Perhaps too expensive for what it is. But it works and is well made, and the instructions are clear. I prefer the standard divider with useless teeth to prevent recoil. Removal is immediate for cuts that interfere. In combination with a handle, the safest way to break very thin strips. I read the review of curved holes. I took my time and followed the instructions. They are long and it seems to be taking longer than it should, but my holes are done. If you're concerned about your ability toโ€ฆ

What a great invention!

I was looking for a replacement log splitter for my Jet 10 table saw. The factory splitter was sticking out at the back preventing me from installing an unloading table. I was looking at woodworkers sites and came across this MK log splitter I followed the instructions and installed this in about 1/2 hour The result is great I'm a convert now I'm planning to buy some of their goodies now too The price definitely worth Only have 1/2" thick MDF scrap on hand (requires 2 pieces 4" x 15") Once youโ€ฆ

Seems like a good idea.

According to the description; The blue 1/8" kerf spacer should work with kerf widths from .118" to .145". My kerf is .118" wide. I didn't even try to install it because I was trying to insert one of the kerf splitters into my kerf , and the splitter was too wide. I measured it and the splitters in the blue set are .122" wide, so they won't work for the low end of the .118" to .145" range. This set should work for a kerf range of .090". - 0.118" works. I think they need to better define theโ€ฆ

Works great: power and hand tools

Once installed the system works great. The installation is a little difficult as the instructions are too technical, there are errors and missing suggestions (direction #6). I've been a master mechanic since the 1980s, so I'm familiar with the technology and how to use the tools correctly. All parts included in the kit were in good condition and working. Use a hand screwdriver and nothing will break. Drill pilot holes according to the clamp screw instructions. I've used MJ (left) in the frontโ€ฆ

Belt and Suspenders

If you don't already have MicroJig's Advanced GRR-RIPPER 3D Pusher, you should get one. This is the first step to truly safe and reliable cutting with a table saw. This is a belt. As well as the GRR-RIPPER works, there are times when you can't use it or some other factor makes the cut prone to kickback. This is where suspenders come into play. The MJ splitter keeps the kerf open so neither the keeper nor the cutters can touch the spine of the blade. In addition, it acts as a variable pressureโ€ฆ

Cracked plastic on rear drill guide

The rear drill guide (which moves slightly left to right) broke when I tightened the screw on one side. Specifically, the plastic portion of the drill guide base that houses the threaded metal insert has cracked and expanded (see photo). This resulted in the holes being misaligned when drilled and the rear splitter being tipped in relation to the guardrail, creating a very unsafe situation. Also, the rear drill guide no longer slipped left and right. I hand-tightened both screws without usingโ€ฆ
