Huge high quality screen at a great price

I was very nervous about buying a 4K monitor because they each had a high percentage of negative reviews which made the purchase risky. I chose this monitor because it's new (assuming LG has learned from previous models), because it's LG (a leading LED panel manufacturer that makes great products), and because it's huge. it's better than I dared hope. I usually have half a dozen or more screens active at any given time, and I'm often working on 3 or 4 at a time. With this monitor, I can view them all and organize them for maximum efficiency. The original document is placed in the center and surrounded by numerous reference documents, websites, and applications as needed. Much better than the previous 2 HD monitors - maybe double the space. Sometimes you need to move your head a little to get a better look at something from the side of the screen (you can use the exercise!). Or just drag the document out for a minute and bring it back when you're done. I placed it about 2.5 feet away, so the resolution isn't retina-level, but it's as good or better than the two HD monitors I had in the same position. This monitor actually frees up a lot of desk space compared to two much smaller monitors. Image quality: I don't see any of the issues that people complain about in the negative reviews - no shadows on the edges, no dark corners, no rainbows on the white screen. The only problem is that the dimensions aren't perfect - it stretches the screen a bit in width, causing the circles to deviate a bit. I rarely see this as a problem and haven't taken any steps to fix it yet. It will come in handy when life slows down a bit. Speakers: Good for conference calls and in general, but not great for music as they're mostly mid-range. It makes sense that they can't have a base in the monitor due to the size and the vibration. The voice actors are a bonus from what I understand and they are great in that regard. Other: The stand is heavy and places the bottom of the viewable screen about 4 inches above the table surface, which is ideal. Very hard and heavy. Comes with a remote control for quick volume and brightness adjustments. I would highly recommend this monitor for work or life.
