Review on 🖥️ LG Electronics 43UD79-B LED Lit Monitor - 42.5", 3840X2160P, Six Axis Control, Reader Mode, DAS Mode, Factory Calibration, HD, IPS by Matthew Bradfield

I bought this monitor when it was on sale at Adorama for $599 plus zero tax. Just received today. Huge box and heavyweight. After two hours of use, here are some pros and cons that come to mind. Pros 1) The speaker sounds good, although there's little to no bass (it's certified by Harman Kardon) 2) The screen is huge, almost too big for a short man. like me (5 feet 6 inches). I have to look up a bit when I'm about 50 cm away from the monitor3) The split screen makes it a performance monster. I can open four windows at the same time, a socket, a word, a remote desktop and a video player Cons: 1) The resolution is not very good, although it is 4k I have a Dell P2415Q (23 inch 4k), a Dell U2515H (25 inch 2k) and Acer 28 inch 4k monitor. This LG has the largest pixel width. I mean I literally see every single pixel. And when I use 100% scaling, the fonts are nowhere near "smooth". It's almost unbearable for me and makes me want to give it back. It has a pixel density of 103.67 PPI, which I thought was smooth enough, but it's not. 2) I feel the color is too white or too light even if I adjust reduces the brightness to only 50%. It's pre-calibrated, but I'll try to calibrate it later with Spider + DisplayCAL. Will update if I see a difference. 3) When I use the quad screen split, the margin between each sub-screen is about 5mm, which I don't really like 4) No USB-C cable. LG software requires USB connection between monitor and computer to update monitor software and I understand it must be USB-C cable. The two USB 3.0 ports are downstream only, which means you need to connect the monitor to your computer using a USB C cable. This is a good monitor considering its price range. However, if I can turn back time, I definitely won't buy this. The pixel density is just too low for me. I think 4k x 27 inches might be a better fit. . Then adjust your Windows settings so that the taskbar is only on the bottom primary monitor. Finally, download the UHD wallpaper and set it to span and you're done. You can easily split windows into four without using the ugly LG. The only downside to this setup is that you can't play games in full screen. However, if you play Forza with a virtual monitor (3840 x 1080), you get a very wide viewing angle, which I really like. 4k settings. Also, it's probably not a good idea to play games at 4k on that screen size. I tried Overwatch with this monitor and I can't really focus on the whole screen, so gamers usually use 24-27 inch monitors.
