I understand why artists love this product! This was my first time using oil pastels and I have a Caran Dache oil pastel. Both have amazing color payoff but are much easier to blend with fingers. You can use it to create amazing textures and use the cleanup tools to see the colors underneath. You can dilute it with Gamsol to get a paint-like effect. Layering is easy and doesn't get messy. I've also tried them on different surfaces. I highly recommend trying at least a small set (base) for yourself. I'm planning to get a bigger set somewhere else!
