I reviewed many knives and read many reviews before purchasing this one. After using this knife for three months I am very satisfied with my purchase. Anyone who spends time in the garden should have this knife or one very similar! When he saw my husband planting with a trowel and then lent him his knife, he immediately ordered his own. For the first week of owning a knife, I cleaned it carefully and sheathed it every night. After that, I just threw it in my garden cart at the end of the day. There were even evenings when they left it stuck in the ground where I had stopped planting the day before. From time to time I feel sorry for him and wash off all the red clay stuck to him. After all the abuse, the knife is still in great shape (except it probably needs a good sharpening). I use my knife for planting, breaking up clods of earth, digging up weeds, digging trenches for seeds. I've even used it to cut string at times. The handle seems comfortable and without splinters. The blade is sharp, so sharp that I cut myself several times. He has good weight and balance. All in all, this has become my go-to gardening tool and if I lose or break mine I'll order another in a heartbeat.
